Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Raavio handles information when you use the web app and browser extension to record product workflows and create guides.
Information We Collect
Raavio collects information needed to create a recording only after you sign in and explicitly start a recording from the extension. This may include video of the visible content in the browser tab where recording started; screenshot previews and interaction data from that tab and new tabs or windows opened by its recorded workflow; page URLs; navigation events; clicked elements; element selectors; visible element text; masked form-change previews; viewport information; and timestamps. If you turn on "Record my voice" and allow microphone access, it also includes audio from your microphone while the recording is active. Raavio does not capture unrelated tabs, browser chrome, camera, or system audio, and does not use your microphone when that option is off.
Sensitive Information
The extension masks captured values from fields identified as passwords, tokens, secrets, credit-card fields, CVV/CVC fields, one-time codes, and other private inputs. Because tab video and screenshots contain visible page content, you should hide sensitive information and avoid recording pages containing confidential, regulated, or highly sensitive information.
How We Use Information
Recorded data is used to create, display, edit, and manage your guide recordings inside your Raavio account. We do not sell recorded activity data or use it for advertising.
Where Data Is Sent
The extension sends recorded events and screenshots to the Raavio backend at https://raavio.ir. While recording, encrypted video parts may be sent directly over HTTPS to Raavio's object storage so a long recording does not remain entirely in browser memory. The backend authorizes each upload, and the completed video is associated with the account signed in to the extension.
Browser Permissions
Raavio uses the tabCapture permission to capture video from only the active tab selected by the user. It uses webNavigation only during an active recording to identify a new browser tab or window opened by the recorded workflow, so interaction and screenshot capture can continue there. It uses the offscreen permission to run MediaRecorder in a hidden extension document because Manifest V3 service workers cannot continuously process a media stream. Capture begins only after the user opens Raavio from the toolbar and clicks Start recording. Capture stops when the recording is completed or deleted, and no media processing occurs while there is no active recording.
Data Control And Deletion
You can stop, complete, and delete recordings from the extension or web app. Deleting a recording removes the recording and its captured events from the application.
